Growing Sugar Pie Pumpkin Microgreen Seeds
Soaking is not required, though we would love to hear about your experience if you decide to do so. Soil is the preferred growing medium. Cover your seeds to maintain moisture for 3-5 days.
These microgreens may have a faint smell to them to accompany their bitter taste. Water as needed to maintain moist soil without soaking the soil. If you start to see signs of molding, spray with ½ cup water and 1 tablespoon food-grade hydrogen peroxide mixture. We recommend growing the seeds inside a pumpkin to maintain an ideal growing environment.
To do this, hollow out the inside. Add soil just below your top opening. Place your seeds, then cover them with soil. Water and replace the top of your pumpkin. These microgreens should be ready in about 7-14 days. Most people prefer to use pumpkin microgreens for decoration rather than consumption.
Culinary Tips
These microgreens are not recommended for eating as they are very bitter. They are edible though, and may be better used when paired with acidic or sweet foods.
