The Yellow Jamaican habanero pepper is relatively tame for habaneros as it is rated between 250,000 - 300,000 Scoville Heat Units, about 400% milder than the ghost pepper. Habanero pepper plants mature to about 36 inches tall and about 24 inches wide, able to grow perennially like a fruit tree in hardiness zones 10 and above. Plants become top-heavy with fruit and will require some staking and support. Jamaican Yellow habanero thrives in pots and containers and susceptible to root rot and wilting in poorly drained soils.
