Hershey was a Mennonite elder in Lancaster, Pennsylvania who set about creating the perfect corn for his needs. By 1910 he stopped mixing superior corns together and began selecting for early maturity, disease resistance, yield, large ears and stability. Thus Lancaster Sure Crop was born. So amazing is Lancaster that many of todays corn-belt hybrids can trace at least one parent back to this corn. ~88 seeds/oz.
