Tanacetum vulgare Originally native to Europe and Asia, tansy is now widely grown as an insect repellant. It can be a great asset in the garden as a companion plant for cucumbers, squash, roses and some berries to help keep the plants pest-free. This perennial is a great cover crop, but wildly invasive, best to keep this plant contained!

Tansy Flower Seeds

Sow seeds directly outdoors when frost danger has passed, keep seeds moist. Germination is around 2-4 weeks, if the soil is 68° or above.

Used dried flowers as a potpourri or hang fresh flowers by doorways to keep the mosquitos, flies, moths and ants at bay. Not recommended for culinary purposes.
