Basil doesn't like extremes of hot or cold, and grows well indoors our outdoors. Sow seeds a quarter inch deep and space 3 to 4 inches apart. Direct sow after the last frost, or start earlier indoors and transplant after hardening off. Basil germinates a little slower than other seeds, so be patient and expect to see seedlings after 10 days or so.
