How to Grow Cascabella Hot Peppers from Seed

As with most varieties of peppers it‚s recommended to start Cascabella hot pepper seeds indoors in early spring, sowing them 1/4‚ deep and keeping them moist until germination. Once the Cascabella seeds have sprouted, they can be moved into either larger pots or directly into the rich soil of a vegetable garden (with at least 18‚ of spacing between the individual plants).

Harvesting Cascabella Hot Peppers

Cascabella hot peppers seeds typically mature to a maximum length of 2‚, and will be a brilliant red color when fully mature. That being said, these pepper are often harvested and eaten when still yellow (particularly if the intent is to pickle the peppers for later use).

As with most types of hot peppers, it‚s often best to snip the fruit from the plant with shears (leaving a small amount of stem behind on the plant) while also trying to minimize skin contact with the peppers themselves due to the high levels of capsaicin contained in the flesh of the fruit.
