Growing Orange Swiss Chard Vegetable Garden Seeds
Growing Directions:
Orange Swiss Chard seeds require a moist and rich soil. The soil should have a pH between 6 and 6.4; adding compost to the soil can help equalize the pH and provide the plants with the proper nutrients. Sow the seeds a week or two before the final frost of the season. Swiss Chard is relatively hardy and can handle germinating in cooler temperatures. Cover each seed with about ¼" of an inch of soil. Keep the rows spaced around 24" apart and the plants between 18 and 24" apart. Keep the roots watered regularly, and be sure that the plants are set up to grow in an area that has full sun. After around 55 days, the Swiss Chard will be ready for harvest. When removing leaves, be sure to keep the plant in tact as well as you can, so that they can continue to grow.
