Open-pollinated Licorice Basil Herb plants (Ocimum basilicum) can reach up to 2" tall and flourish as a compact bush. As early fall approaches, sweet and spicy Licorice Basil grows silver-green stems with purple tips that produce vibrant flowers. As their shiny leaves become 6-8" long, they will be ready to harvest. Varieties such as Licorice Basil, grow as a heat-loving crop that continue to thrive until the first frost arrives. These herbs prefer to have their flowers pinched back as they develop.
